Ai and Email Marketing, Magan Ward, Email Marketing

Is artificial intelligence the future of email marketing, or is it just a buzzword marketers are throwing around to sound like they’re on top of trends? Is it replacing the need for human copywriters? Can AI actually take the place of our brand voice and show up and serve our customers for us?

It’s no secret that the world is changing. The digital age has seen a drastic shift in how we communicate, consume information and even do our jobs. With the advent of AI-driven email marketing, marketers are now able to send personalized messages with the power of machine learning algorithms and natural language processing.

What does this mean for the future of email marketing?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. And it got me wondering, is AI the future of email marketing? Or is it the future of everything? Will we still need humans for copywriting at all? Can AI actually take the place of our brand voice and show up and serve our customers for us? Let’s talk more about how this could be the future we’ve all be waiting for…or dreading.

So, is AI the future of email marketing?

It’s the question that has been on our minds for some time now. We know it’s not going to happen overnight, but we are starting to see more and more examples of how AI can be used in this space. So what does this mean for you as a marketer? What should you do about it? And is there any way to stop it from happening at all? Let’s talk about these questions and more…

Artificial Intelligence has already been used by some of the world’s largest brands in their email marketing campaigns, including Nike, Google, Coca-Cola and more. With AI it is assumed that there is no need for copywriters – you can create an entire campaign without lifting a finger. And that means more time doing what you love! Though, I’m going to prove to you here in a few moments that the copywriters aren’t out of a job…yet.

The answer to the main question of this blog is a resounding yes! Email marketers are using artificial intelligence for everything from content creation, to list segmentation and automation.

It’s not just about creating emails anymore – it’s about understanding your audience and delivering them with the right message at the right time.

Because the future is here, y’all! But before we get into the details, let’s take a step back and look at what exactly AI means for your business.

There are many different types of artificial intelligence out there today – some with very specific uses like facial recognition or voice recognition (iPhones have had this for a while). Others have broader applications such as machine learning or deep learning which can be applied across industries including marketing automation, customer service chatbots, predictive analytics, etc.

No matter where you use them though they will help make your life easier by automating tasks so that you don’t have to worry about them anymore!

What does the future of email marketing look like?

You know what they say – if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em! So let’s talk about how to get started with artificial intelligence in your business today. It might not be as scary as you think. In fact, there are some pretty exciting possibilities that come along with using AI in your marketing strategy. We’ll explore those now…

Let’s take a look at what AI can do for us as marketers and see if it’s really worth investing in or not. We’ll explore its capabilities, limitations, and whether or not humans will still have a place in marketing after all these advancements happen (they do, don’t freak out).

What does AI mean for copywriting?

Some worry that copywriters will be out of a job, but in my opinion this is not fully the case. You still need to take the AI, tweak it a bit, and having trained copywriter eyeballs on what is pumped out and having someone spruce it up is still very important. I haven’t even gotten into the fact that trained copywriters are who helped build these programs so the program knows how to write with the latest industry standards.

Can AI actually take the place of our brand voice and show up and serve our customers for us?

This was my biggest question. What I learned is that these programs are trained to understand the different emotions put into writing and you can have it written with more casual tones, professional intelligence, or a fun and witty voice

Is there any way to stop it from happening? Or should we embrace it instead?

Embrace it. It’s been here for a while already.

Will humans still be needed in jobs when robots can do them better than they ever could themselves?

Ok, duh. Yes. Who builds the AI programs and even had the idea for AI in the first place? Humans. Specifically, Conversion.ai is trained by copywriters and conversion experts with rules to follow and models to mimic.

Do you think people will eventually get used to talking to machines as if they were human beings over time?

I mean, what kind of question is this? It’s 2021. We’re already using Siri and Alexa on a daily basis….so? You were asking what, again?

AI is here, and it’s not going anywhere. It may seem like a daunting task to keep up with all the advancements in marketing techniques that artificial intelligence has created, but don’t worry, there are many reasons to be excited about AI in email marketing because it’s not just about creating emails anymore – it’s about understanding your audience and delivering them with the right message at the right time. The more you understand how people think, act and behave, the better able you will be to engage them on a personal level.

I heavily utilized Conversion.AI to write this blog post and while they are not paying me to write this, it was a testament to how far AI has come. It is both mind blowing and terrifying.
